OUTDOOR POOLS
The summer of 2022 was an exhilarating season for the Y as we operated two outdoor community pools - the Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA and the Springfield Community Pool. With a full summer season at the Berkeley Heights location and our inaugural summer managing the Springfield Community Pool, we were thrilled to accommodate over 1,200 families who were ready to dive in and make a splash. Our outdoor facilities offered free swimming, lap swim, swim lessons, water fitness classes, competitive swim team activities, summer camp, and hosted free events such as Healthy Kids Day®.
Our families were invited to enjoy our expansive, outdoor, heated pools, each featuring multiple diving boards, a zero-entry kiddie pool, playground, and a pool house. All these amenities were nestled amidst picturesque landscaping, creating a tranquil and enjoyable summer atmosphere by the water.

AQUATIC PROGRAMS
At the Summit Area YMCA, we believe in the importance of water safety and that everyone should be comfortable in and around water. Our youth swim lessons help build strong, secure, connected and confident swimmers and ensure that anyone can learn to swim at any age! In 2021, we offered our essential swim lessons to 600 children so they can learn how to swim at an early age, at both our indoor pools at the Summit YMCA and the Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA.
However, swimming is not just for kids! The Y offers a variety of water fitness classes for members who are 18 and older for those who prefer a more low-impact workout.
